A friend from work let us borrow an easel, and that has become a new favorite activity. Kennedy loves to draw and color in her new coloring book. She also likes to tell us "mama draw" or "daddy do it" and she'll often let us know what we should draw, which color crayon to use, or where on the page to put something.
Just about every day she has to watch her "farm movie" (a Baby Einstein dvd) followed by "zoo train" (a Signing Time dvd). The regular routine is to watch them after lunch at grampy's house, but sometimes once isn't enough, and she has to watch them again at home. She'll climb up on the couch with a blankie and some juice, and amazingly the movies manage to hold her attention pretty well. It is so cute to hear her singing the songs and doing the signs for so many different animals. She's especially good at signing bat, gorilla, lion, tiger, zebra, and kangaroo. Maybe not the most practical sign language to learn, but this girl loves animals and we do visit the zoo almost every week!
Kennedy loves to talk on the phone - sometimes just pretend conversations and other times she actually manages to dial someone, but she always has something interesting to say. Recently we helped her call her cousin Huck and she did a pretty good job of wishing him a happy 2nd birthday. She also called aunt Kari and uncle Rainier just to say hi and tell them what she's been up to. When there isn't anyone on the other end, you'll usually hear her loudly exclaim "uh-huh!" and "oh yes!" and then end the call with "talk to you later!"
