How big is Macy?

Macy had her 18-month check-up today. She's doing well in all areas, and Dr. Ormsby was especially impressed with her verbal skills. She asked if I thought Macy had ten words. Please, it's easily over 50, and I'd guess closer to 100. Macy was a little shy and nervous, but she loved climbing all over the chairs and talking about the fish decor in the room. When it was time for the three shots, I think she knew what was coming. It breaks my heart to see her big tears and angry red face. She cheered up when she got to pick a Dora sticker (and we snuck out a Princess Jasmine one to give to Kennedy after school). How big is Macy?

Height: 31.5 inches (50th percentile)
Weight: 21 pounds 10 ounces (20th percentile)
Head: (65th percentile)

While we were at the hospital, we tried to stop by to see a friend from work on the maternity floor. She had her baby, Eli, yesterday afternoon, but unfortunately we were there during the pediatrician rounds. My mom and I went back a bit later, and got the chance to see the whole family. Emily was so sweet to let me hold Eli. I'd almost forgotten what it feels like to hold a newborn. Boy, did it bring back some wonderful memories!

Macy's verbal skills have really increased dramatically over the last two weeks. We're understanding so much more of what she says and she's even starting to form some simple sentences. Some recent examples:

Daddy home (when she hears a motorcycle, or anything sounding remotely close)
Bye Pampy (and she even said Adios to me when I left for work one morning)
Mama hair (while yanking it)
Loki get down
Want some milk
Help with trains (she kept saying this one over and over while we were playing the other night)

She also loves to name people, TV characters (especially from Sesame Street), body parts and cat parts (I think Macy is semi-obsessed with our cat, Loki, and he is such a good sport to put up with all her chasing, tail pulling, poking, patting, and crushing hugs).
