Being sick is no fun!

I've been sick since last Monday - seems to just be a bad cold, but being pregnant makes it so much worse! Tuesday and Friday I didn't go to work. I missed an important training session, but Jake told me that they don't give out medals for going in when you are sick and I need to take care of myself and the baby. I felt too guilty to go after that. Luckily with the holiday weekend I had an extra day to rest, but I'm still not over it. Here's what I managed to accomplish with my four days (mostly spent on the couch)...
  • Lots of reading. I think I'll actually finish the book for book group this month, and it's The Count of Monte Cristo (1,000+ pages!)
  • Lots of tv. I was able to catch up on some guilty pleasures - episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County and Top Chef. I also got to see the start of the Amazing Race, which is one of my favorite shows, while Jake and Kennedy went to dinner at the Nelsons' to celebrate Ben's birthday.
  • Two exciting outings. We drove to the cemetery to look for deer. We went to Home Depot for light bulbs and tile sealer. I tried to do a few projects around the house, but had to abandon most and start resting again after about 15 minutes.
Jake has been fabulous helping with Kennedy! He's had to take her to the doctor's office (she still has an ear infection), read her all her favorite stories, keep her entertained while I was napping, fix our meals and he took her to the zoo. He's the best dad!!! Thanks to my great husband and girls I got a sweet Valentine's Day card...and they got nothing. I'll have to make it up to them when I'm back on my feet.
