Trip to Moab

Time to play blog catch-up! We spent a weekend in Moab with the Nelsons - everyone except Ira. We rented a condo with three bedrooms which was able to accommodate all nine adults and four kids quite comfortably. Activities included swimming, coloring, games, eating, shopping, and of course hiking! On our first day in Arches we did the Park Avenue hike, which was perfect for the kids. We also saw Balanced Rock and hiked to Sand Dune Arch (another kid favorite) and Broken Arch. Jake and Kennedy (in the backpack) did the Fiery Furnace hike with Beth, Ben, McKenzie and Rainier. I went to town with Brent, Kari, Eliza and Huck to do some shopping and get ice cream. We also did some 4-wheeling back to Gemini Bridges. I was told that these trails were pretty tame, but it was definitely enough of a rush for Macy and me. On the last day, just the four of us hiked to Delicate Arch. People made lots of comments about hiking with two little girls, and most seemed in awe that we would try the hike with them. We kept a good pace, and only one couple passed us - Jake was pretty proud of that. We had perfect weather in Moab, but it rained like crazy on the drive down and back. It was fun to spend the time with everyone.
