Kennedy was supposed to go to her first birthday party on Saturday. A boy from her school turned three and invited all the kids from the class. We don't know much about toddler party etiquette, so when an invitation says 12-3 does that mean drop off the kid for the full time, a parent needs to stay, what? Could the hosts really want total responsibility for 12 or more 2 and 3-year-olds, not all of whom are potty trained? Jake took Kennedy to Target to look for a gift, but we decided at the last minute to keep her home. She's had a runny nose for the last few days, but no fever (she does not have swine flu, but you never know what people might think). We didn't want to be the parents that send their sick kid to the party, expecting someone else to wipe her nose. Anyway, Kennedy got to keep the matchbox cars that they picked out for Max. Here she is all dressed up with nowhere to go.
Instead we had popcorn and watched some of "Finding Nemo" then we got some pizza, made brownies and played "Pig Out" (the game with the little plastic pigs that you shake to see how they land). She really seemed to like the game and didn't mind missing the party. Macy spent most of the day sleeping, as usual. She's a great baby and becoming more and more alert. She's getting out much more than Kennedy did at this age.
